According to U.S. News & World Report's 2021–2022 Best Hospitals rankings, six of our medical specialties ranked among the nation's best, reflecting the health system's stature as a long-standing leader in Florida and the southeastern U.S.

The six specialties ranked among the nation’s best include urology (32nd); ear, nose and throat (32nd); pulmonology and lung surgery (37th); geriatrics (42nd – tie); gynecology (45th); and cardiology and heart surgery (50th). Four of these specialties (urology, pulmonology and lung surgery, gynecology, and cardiology and heart surgery) are ranked the highest in Florida, underscoring UF Health's position as the Southeast's preeminent health center.

UF Health Shands Children's Hospital is nationally ranked in eight medical specialties by U.S. News & World Report for 2021–22, making it number 1 in Florida and among the top 5 children's hospitals in the southeastern United States.
