Regional West Medical Center Company

Regional West Medical Center
Regional West is one of just three Level II Trauma Centers in Nebraska, as verified by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma and designated by the State of Nebraska Health and Human Services Department.
We are committed to supporting the region as the lead Level II Trauma Center in Nebraska's Region 4. Support includes outreach and consultation in the development of surrounding trauma systems, including pre-hospital training, education, performance improvement, and injury prevention activities. Our team works closely with the region's pre-hospital services, including volunteer basic life support services, ALS ambulance services, and the Air Link flight service.
Providing the region’s best trauma care
In people younger than 44 years old, trauma is the leading cause of death in the United States and is the fourth leading cause of death in individuals of all age groups.
Due to geographic restraints and dense population sizes, trauma poses unique challenges for those living in rural areas and the health care providers charged with serving them.
Two-thirds of all highway traffic deaths occur in rural settings. For any given severe injury, the chances of dying in a rural environment are greater than in urban settings. It is for these reasons that Regional West, in partnership with many other communities across the panhandle, has chosen to prioritize and bolster the development of trauma services in western Nebraska, creating a seamless process from the accident site through rehabilitation.
