Los Angeles Times Company

Los Angeles Times
The Los Angeles Times, commonly referred to as the Times, is a paid daily newspaper published in Los Angeles, California, since 1881. It was the largest metropolitan newspaper in circulation in the United States in 2008 and the fourth most widely distributed newspaper in the country. In 2000, the Tribune Company, parent company of the Chicago Tribune and local television station KTLA, purchased the Los Angeles Times.
The Los Angeles Times was purchased by Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong in June 2018. Under local ownership, The Times is on a mission to honor its history of journalistic excellence and expand its storytelling through podcasts like “Dirty John,” a daily TV show, “LA Times Today,” and digital platforms vital to delivering the news.
Since returning to private ownership, The Times has been rebuilding and expanding its newsroom – which has grown by 25%. With the largest newsgathering organization this side of the Potomac, The Times is the essential source of news for and about California and the West.
