About JCCA

JCCA, a non-profit, comprehensive, multicultural agency, has been serving children and families since 1822. We help those who need it most. JCCA's programs in New York City, Westchester County and Long Island include: group and family day care, mental health and preventive services, education programs, a residential diagnostic center, foster homes, group homes and residential services for children and adolescents, preventive services, independent living skills training, adoption programs, services to youth on the autism spectrum or with other special needs, and services to the Jewish community. JCCA programs reach more than 16,000 children and family members annually.

JCCA is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children and is committed to providing high quality programs to its clients.

JCCA clients are referred by city, county and state agencies, school systems, hospitals, private practitioners, managed care providers, insurance companies and individuals.

JCCA volunteers on the Westchester campus, Two Together and other programs offer mentoring, tutoring, recreational activities and companionship to young people at JCCA.

JCCA works collaboratively with families so that children may live in safe, loving, permanent homes with connections to resources and supports in their community.

JCCA strives to assure that when child and family situations have required the child to be in out-of-home care, it is as brief as possible.

JCCA empowers young people by teaching them the skills to lead productive, independent lives.

JCCA’s staff is culturally competent and multilingual, including licensed social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, medical, nursing and child care staff.

JCCA's funding comes from public and private sources, including UJA-Federation of NY; the NYC Administration for Children's Services; Department of Mental Health; Mental Retardation and Alcoholism Services; NYS Office of Mental Health; NYS Office of Children and Family Services; Committees on Special Education; Agency for Child Development; County Departments of Social Services; foundations, bequests, and the generosity of individual donors.
