Founded in Houston in 1954 as Spring Branch ISD Employees Credit Union, FCCU has a clear passion for helping everyone achieve their financial goals. 1988 marked our expansion to the Greater Houston Area as we were granted a community charter to serve Harris and Fort Bend Counties. 2013 welcomed the expansion of our charter to Montgomery County. FCCU has now grown to have many offices across the Greater Houston Area with over 116,000 members, $1.2+ Billion in assets and 350+ employees.
First Community understands each person’s financial needs are different. In fact, we pride ourselves on knowing our members personally so we can be on target with their financial goals while providing FIRST-RATE service. In 2011, First Community Credit Union formed a partnership with the Houston Texans and became the Official Credit Union of the Houston Texans. With Exclusive Texans Checking and Texans Debit Cards, First Community cemented their place in the financial industry continuing to grow and become one of the most successful Credit Unions in Houston. FCCU feels it is important to give back to the communities we serve. With a big heart for education, First Community works with the Houston Texans and developed the Stars in the Classroom program to recognize the hard work and exceptional effort teachers put in each day. Community involvement also includes our Scholarship Program. For over 30 years, we’ve awarded multiple scholarships to deserving students continuing their education. We’ve also been a big contributor and partner of many charitable initiatives that impact our communities in an exponential way.
A few of our annual community programs include:
• Summer Food Drives benefiting local food pantries
• Toy Drive held in partnership with the Houston Fire Department where we collect toy donations to benefit
families in need
• Blood Drives are held twice a year and benefit the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center
In addition, Shred Days and Member Workshops are held throughout the year to encourage members to shred documents they no longer need in a safe way and to educate and provide expert insight on topics like auto buying, retirement and more.
