Doll Distributing was founded by Merlin and Edith Doll when they purchased Simmons Distributing of Hastings, Nebraska with a starting inventory of 2260 cases, 33 Budweiser kegs, 355 Goetz cases and 7 tap accounts.
On December 23, 1965 Doll Dist. sold the Hastings distributorship and purchased Michaels Distributing of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Doll Distributing sold approx. 40,000 cases of Anheuser Busch and 12,000 cases of Pabst Blue Ribbon and Grain Belt in the first year.
The second generation of Jeff Doll, Mark Doll, Tami Van Sant, Scott Doll, and Jay Doll purchased the company from their parents and looked for opportunities to expand the company as this company did. On April 21, 1988 Doll Distributing took over the Red Oak territory. This expanded Doll Distributing to 11 counties from its original 3, bringing Doll Distributing services to 540 customers in Southwest Iowa.
On December 15, 2006 Doll Distributing purchased Nesbit Dist. of Des Moines. This expanded Doll Distributing to 21 counties total and over 2000 Customers.
On November 9th, 2007 Doll Distributing continued its growth by acquiring the Grinnell Beverage Company.
Dec. 10th. 2010 Doll purchases Whittenburg Distributing of Spencer, Iowa and Kabrick Distributing of Britt, Iowa in North and Northwest Iowa.
