About Delaware River and Bay Authority

CONNECTING PEOPLE & PLACES IN THE NORTHEAST CORRIDOR

The Delaware River & Bay Authority (DRBA) is a bi-state Authority that serves people traveling between Delaware and New Jersey. We operate the Delaware Memorial Bridge, Cape May-Lewes Ferry, Forts Ferry Crossing ferry, and five airports throughout South Jersey and Delaware.

People moving through all our systems include travelers taking once-in-a-lifetime vacations, those getting to special family gatherings, daily commuters, participants coming into the area to attend special events such as regional NASCAR races, commercial vehicles moving goods and services on the Northeast Seaboard, and tourists to the Delmarva and South Jersey region.

BROAD JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Jobs at the DRBA range from marine captains, aviation specialists, and law enforcement professionals to those more commonly found in most companies including accountants, marketing pros, Human Resource benefits and recruitment personnel, maintenance crews and engineers.

Many jobs are seasonal, but the DRBA hires throughout the year. People interested in working at the DRBA should regularly check the website -- https://www.drba.net/employment-- to see the most current job openings throughout the Authority. Jobs range from internships to part-time posts and full-time work across disciplines.

MELDING PRIVATE AND PUBLIC

The DRBA defines itself as a quasi-governmental institution. That means it is a self-sustaining entity fully supported by Tolls, Ticket Sales, and Fees collected at its bridge, airports, and ferry systems. No public taxes are used to operate our systems. But, unlike a fully private institution, the DRBA functions as a public entity with the heart of a public servant and is operated by a 12-person commission with appointed representatives from the governor's offices of both the States of Delaware and New Jersey.

As part of its mission, the DRBA is committed to the Economic Growth and Development of the region it serves. The Cape May-Lewes Ferry alone provides $20 in economic value back to the combined Southern Delaware and South Jersey Region for every $1 the DRBA invests in maintaining the system. In addition to its direct ports, bridges and air fields, the DRBA maintains roads and key infrastructure adjacent to each facility.

More than one million cars travel across the Delaware Memorial Bridge in an average year, and another 800,000 passengers take the Cape May-Lewes Ferry annually across the Delaware Bay. More than 100,000 landings also occur across the DRBA's 5 airports in Wilmington and Dover, DE, and Millville and Cape May, NJ.
