About Creation Technologies

Creation Technologies is a medium fish in a small pond. The regional contract electronics manufacturer is focused on the North American market, though the majority of the world's electronics are produced in Asia. The company operates four facilities in Canada, six in the US, and one in China, for North American manufacturers with Asian operations. Creation Technologies specializes in printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing; it offers various PCB technologies, including high-speed surface mount, automated through-hole, double-sided, flexible circuit, and backplane assemblies. The company also offers related services, including product testing, procurement, software configuration, and repair. Creation Technologies was founded in 1991 and expanded its US operations over the years through acquisitions. Its 36,000-sq.-ft. Chinese plant, opened in 2008, has two surface-mount technology (SMT) lines and employs 70 people. In North America, the company offers 26 SMT lines and more than 500,000-sq.-ft. of manufacturing space. The regional supply chain manager doesn't rake in billions like its Asian counterparts, but is considered a top player in North America, focusing on provider customer service to smaller operations. In 2011 the company bought the design, product development, and manufacturing group of Colorado-based Quest Product Development. Creation Technologies joined the group with its own design engineers to form Creation Technologies Design Services providing services such as prototyping, project planning, validation, and product development. Quest brings a specific expertise in medical product design.
