Church World Service
About: Church World Service is a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster.
Mission: CWS has worked for seven decades with one goal: building a world where there is enough for all. We affirm the power of individuals and communities to take ownership of their future. We meet them right where they are, helping them create solutions they can maintain – and build on. That means a refugee family who is able to start a new life. Or someone rebuilding after disaster finds safety with dignity. Or a family has food on their table each day and clean water to drink.
General Information: CWS programs around the world fight hunger; support communities as they improve their access to water, sanitation and hygiene; and assist refugees and people who are in search of a safe home. In the United States, CROP Hunger Walks support our global hunger-fighting programs as well as supporting food banks, soup kitchens and other agencies in local communities.
