Barney Trucking was founded in 1947 when Glen Barney purchased the straight-truck he’d been driving for the local mine. The mine owner, impressed by Glen’s relentless drive and dedication to the job, asked if he’d be interested in buying the truck. Glen jumped at the opportunity and started building his own company. That extraordinary work ethic and commitment to providing excellent service is the foundation of our company’s success. Glen's philosophy and guiding principles remain deeply rooted in our culture. Now in its third generation, the privately-held family-owned company has grown into a leading transportation company providing jobs to more than 550 people throughout the Western U.S.
