A leader in long term care for over 50 years, ABCM owns and operates 31 skilled nursing & long-term care centers, 24 independent & assisted livings, and numerous outpatient therapy clinics throughout Iowa, with specialized services varying by location.
The story of ABCM is a classic tale of American free enterprise, wherein four individuals with a goal, vision, and burning determination built a company fostering the ideal of quality care for the ill and elderly. In 1961, George M. Manoylovich became concerned about conditions of nursing homes and the housing for the aged in Iowa. He began an association with new partners D.K. Benge, MD, & James E. Coonley II, attorney, both of Hampton, Iowa. Richard A. Allbee, attorney and current CEO (also of Hampton), joined the others in 1971. ABCM is an acronym for the first letters of the last names of the founders.
